Jazz at The Pavilion 2009

took place on Sunday July 19th with Clive Carroll, the Toby Allen Trio and Ben Scarce

Ben opened the afternoon for his fifth appearance at The Pavilion with a demonstration of the improvement he has made since he first performed at The Pavilion in 2005.

His performance included songs from his debut CD "Something of a Rarity". For details visit Ben Scarce

The Toby Allen Trio performed a mixed programme of familar songs which showcased the vocal strength of Toby along with the well coordinated musical support of the trio. These young men who met and studied music at Exeter proved that they can hold their own in the crowded scene.

Clive Carroll proved that his previous visit to Orford to perform at the Town Hall was no one off performance. His skill with the guitar on an eclectic mix of tunes fitted well between the simple James Taylorish appeal of Ben Scarce and the well crafted jazz classics of the Toby Allen Trio.
